About the Program

International Studies is an academic field that engages the nature of a contemporary, interconnected world. The undergraduate program in International Studies brings together multiple theoretical and methodological contributions and relies on the College faculty and courses from across the social sciences and humanities. The program encompasses a number of themes of global significance such as humanitarianism and transnationalism, lived experience and powerful forms of knowledge, globalizing forms of contemporary capitalism, and localizing social and political practices. Emphasizing the importance of study abroad and undergraduate research, the program develops academic perspectives and skills to grasp the historical complexity of social, cultural, political, and economic phenomena. International Studies prepares students for further academic or professional careers with global and international focus. The program is organized around three tracks:

  • Political Economy;
  • Transnational Processes;
  • Regional Studies.
